The Alberta Trucking Association is the advocate for the trucking industry in Alberta. It is also Alberta's voice in national and international affairs through the Canadian Trucking Alliance. It was established in 1938, and now has over 250 active carriers and supplier members, of which Boychuk Transport is proud to be a part of.
ATISA (Alberta Trucking Industry Safety Association)

ATISA is an association dedicated to providing training, information and guidance on safety issues to workers and employers in the transportation industry. Their target is injury reduction. They have approximately 8,000 members and Boychuk Transport is a member in good standing.
PIC (Partners in Compliance) (Web Site:

PIC is a joint effort between the Government of Alberta Transportation and Utilities and the Alberta Trucking Association. Within the program, carriers who can demonstrate a higher level of regulatory compliance then the prescribed PIC benchmarks are allowed to regulate themselves. Boychuk Transport was a founding member of the PIC program.
Some of the PIC benchmarks are:
- Safety/Driver Qualifications: Carriers will have in place a written safety program which is comprehensive and aimed at increasing safety consciousness and providing safety education at all levels.
- Reportable Collision Data/Analysis: The carrier shall implement steps, maintain data and review company and driver practices in an effort to reduce reportable collisions.
- Equipment Inspection/Repair: the carrier will have a written Maintenance Program, which provides for a continuous and regular program of inspection, maintenance and repair.
- Driver's Hour of Service: The carrier will have management practices, which address driver's hours of service compliance.
- Dangerous Goods: The high-risk nature of the transportation of dangerous goods demands that carriers transporting such goods shall have responsible management practices.
- Vehicle Weight & Dimension Management: The carrier agrees to implement management practices to ensure compliance with the vehicle weight allowances and the transport of over dimensional load requirements
- IFTA/Treasury Compliance: The carrier will comply with all the provisions and have copies of the following documents: IFTA articles of Agreement; IFTA procedures Manual; and, the Treasury IFTA Information Circulars.
- Prorate Compliance: The carrier will comply with all applicable licensing requirements and the provisions of the Prorate Information Package, the International Registration Plan (IRP), and the Canadian Agreement on Vehicle Registration (CAVR).
Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA)
Boychuk Transport is also, a proud member of CVSA. The CVSA's primary goal is "Commercial Safety". For a company to become a member of CVSA they must agree to have goals and objectives compatible with theirs. These goals are all safety oriented - improving vehicle safety operations, continually discussing commercial safety to our own staff and those we come in contact with, provide ongoing safety training and upgrading for drivers and report on the assessment of our improvements.
